Resolutions

New Years Resolutions
Happens every year -
Usually difficult to follow -
But always interesting to try out

So, even with the hype surrounding resolutions, I'm writing my own this year in an attempt to give myself realistic goals for the year.

And now, without further ado...
Erin's 2012 New Years Resolutions

1. Go to the Gym twice a week

2. Daily Bible Study

3. Be a better communicator with my family and friends

4. Eat heathier

5. Volunteer twice a month

6. Work on my 101 in 1001 List
(I'll be posting more about this list soon, but if you're instantly curious, check it out here)
And since I've got this other list to work on, I'm keeping my resolutions list short.
Maybe it's to help me finish my 101 in 1001
or maybe it's to help me stick to the first five resolutions better.

It's going to be a busy year, but I'm looking forward to every minute that's to come.
~ student teaching
~ the wedding of Megan and John
~ attending Threshers 2012
~ finding a job
~ family vacation to Minnesota

What sort of resolutions do you have for 2012?
What are you looking forward to this year?

  1. What a great post! I always like doing some kind of year-end reflection for new years, to remember the year past and look ahead to the year upcoming and what I want to happen.

This year I decided not to make resolutions. Partly because I am constantly setting goals for myself, so I have enough "resolutions" going on already ;-), but mostly because the thing I want to change the most is I want to be less stressed. And if I tell myself THIS YEAR I WILL NOT BE STRESSED, it is a sure way to find myself completely stressed out before January 2. ;-)

As for what I'm looking forward to...what a great question! And what a good outlook to put on the new year. I'm looking forward to being less stressed, to spending more time with Gordon (we are now working opposite schedules and I am working to remedy that in the near future), to weaving more spirituality into my everyday life, and to spending more time doing things I really enjoy, and more time taking risks and doing things that are hard, to stretch and challenge myself.

I just looked at your 101 in 1001 list! What a great idea! I love that some of them are fun, some of them will be more difficult, but there's a good balance. And you're giving yourself a reasonable amount of time to accomplish them all (I'm not good at this.)

    Good luck and Happy 2012!
